The origins of Tunisian crochet (also referred to as Afghan crochet) aren't certain. The finished fabrics often look like a combination of knitting and crochet. Pieces work up quickly and it is a popular way to make blankets. The fabric created can be very dense, but you can also make more delicate items such as lace shawls.
