Note From the Designer:

The Strata Bag is a contemporary design that is easy to crochet and is a great introduction to crochet bags.

Strata is crocheted in rows to create just one piece of fabric that is then slip stitched together. A sewn lining can be added (not essential) to bring more structure and stability, and you can add whichever handles you prefer.

The same pattern is used whether you are working with a aran or chunky weight yarn. Using aran weight will create a standard handbag size, while chunky creates an over-sized bag that can carry a laptop.

Using a simple two-row repeat of Herringbone half trebles and double slip stitches, you will make this bag in no time at all.
