Strokkur
Strokkur by Ysolda Teague
Printed knitting pattern
Note From The Designer:
One of our most popular sweaters Strokkur is the perfect introduction to colourwork yokes.
Ysolda designed Strokkur after visiting Iceland, inspired by the traditional Icelandic Lopapeysas - sweaters with colourwork yokes that are practically a national uniform. They know what they're doing: knit Strokkur in Icelandic wool and you'll have the perfect garment for getting outside no matter the weather.
Strokkur features a more refined fit than many traditional yoked sweaters. It is worked from the bottom up with gentle waist shaping. The yoke patterning is fairly short; to flatteringly frame the face and avoid bagginess around the underarm. Short rows are worked both above and below the stranded colourwork to create a scooped neckline.
